First, let me say that our entire budget for our handfasting, not including my dress or our rings, was $2000. Everyone loved our ceremony, so it is possible to have a beautiful handfasting/wedding on a tight budget. You just have to know where to look. Look for deals, use your connections, be creative.
The basics:
-The Venue: Our handfasting took place in my parent’s backyard
-The Officiant: Our best friend, Christ
-The Music: IPOD and speakers, playlists consist of music we already own and listen to constantly, arranged by me, conducted by friend, Kelly
-The Photographers: twin friends of my sister who had just received nice, new cameras for their birthday
-The Appetizers and Cakes: Made by family friends
-The Drinks: Made by me, the bride, and my mother
-The Favors: Homemade chocolate covered pretzels (with cute sprinkles) packaged in boxes from party city (purchased with coupon)
-The Service: Buffet style, served chicken, potatoes, rolls, and grilled veggies from local restaurant, we picked it up ourselves.
-The glasses: Ross and Dollar store
-The plates and cutlery: Party city
-The tables, umbrellas, and chairs: rented
-The flowers: Trader Joes, arranged by ourselves
Here’s how it all came together:

Rose and cardamom cupcakes – oh my! How were they?
They are so delicious! I love edible flowers and flower flavors. My favorite candy is les anis de flavigny. They come in violet, rose, orange blossom, etc. So tasty! If you get the chance, you should try them. They are definitely something something fun to try.
